Plan of Academic Study for Honors Freshmen

This plan is designed to:

[1] Ensure that you understand the extent of your course commitments and

[2] Assure the Honors Council that you are developing a clear sense of academic purpose(s).

In order to proceed into the upper levels of the CNU Honors Program, you should complete the Plan of Study form (Download Adobe Acrobat Reader here, new window ) during the spring semester and submit it to Dr. Paul, the Honors Director, no later than Friday, March 7, 2008.

The form provides a working plan of study for your years at CNU and in the Honors Program. The plan is not a contract; it may be changed based on your changing goals and desires, the your advisor's recommendations, and the requirements of the university. Please attach a copy of your unofficial transcript, as it appears in your myCNU account.

The Honors Council checks the plan for inclusion of the required Honors courses, as listed in the Undergraduate Catalog. General education requirements, courses in your major, and intended electives should also be listed, but the Honors Council does not evaluate this aspect of the plan. Students should discuss general education and major requirements with departmental advisors. Approval of this form does not indicate that the student's plan meets university requirements.

You will be notified of the approval of your plan in time for registration for summer and fall courses. Students already in the Honors Program must also earn a 3.25 grade point average or higher by the end of Spring 2007 in order to continue in the program. Students applying for the Program need at least a 3.5. Acceptances of applications for the Honors Program are tied to the number of spaces available.
