Academics
Education at Christopher Newport University is about more than memorizing facts. It’s about learning to think analytically and communicate effectively - and about preparing for a dynamic future.

Undergraduate programs at CNU range from accounting to theater artsmanagement  to social work. Whichever field you choose, you’ll learn in small classes with exceptional professors who will get to know you as an individual. Our faculty members have professional experience - as consultants, Fulbright Scholars, attorneys, and researchers - but their first passion is teaching.

Our graduate studies program offers three excellent master's level programs: M.S. in Applied Physics and Computer Science, M.S. in Environmental Science and Master of Arts in Teaching.

Outside of class, you’ll find everything from advanced computer technology to innovative Learning Communities to the President’s Leadership Program to a comprehensive Honors Program. And when it’s time to launch your career, you’ll be ready: CNU offers an extensive selection of on-the-job internships in many different fields.
