"Good" Assessment Practices at CNU

The examples below of Assessment Records (reports) submitted by the Master of Arts in Teaching and the Social Work programs at Christopher Newport University suggest a commitment to careful reflection and improvement. They both received the highest rating
(“Good”) by CNU’s University Assessment and Evaluation Committee. The Committee
arrived at these ratings by using a behaviorally anchored rubric, which contains
elements based on best assessment practice.

Annotations within the provided examples clarify what makes the assessment of these
two programs exceptional. Once you have opened up the documents, scroll over the
highlighted areas with your mouse to see the notes. In addition, a hypothetical
Assessment Record is provided by the Director of Assessment, Evaluation, and
Accreditation.
