Employment Vacancies

Employment Applications

Applicants for full-time classified and part-time hourly vacancies need to submit a Commonwealth of Virginia Application for Employment Form (10-012). The application must reflect the specific position and number.  A separate application is required for each vacancy.  Incomplete or faxed applications will not be considered.

Applicants for instructional and administrative/professional vacancies need to follow the application steps noted on the position advertisement.

Tips for Completing the Commonwealth of Virginia Application for Employment Form

The following tips are offered as a general guide to help you prepare and complete the Commonwealth of Virginia Application for Employment form.  You are responsible for the accuracy, clarity and completeness of the information you provide.  We wish you the very best in your search for employment!

If responding to a specific vacancy, review the requirements of the position as noted on the job announcement.

Review the application thoroughly before completing it.  Know what is being asked.

Take a good look at yourself.
Review what you have done in each paid or volunteer/internship job you have held. If you are applying for a trade or technical position, be sure to describe the tools and equipment you have used and include any training and licenses you may hold.

Be sure to note in the appropriate space if you have a driver’s license, as many jobs require it.

If the application does not provide you enough space, use supplemental sheets.  Too often applicants make the mistake of leaving key information out because of a lack of space.

Fully complete the application even if you provide a resume.  If a resume is not required, it may be discarded and only the application used.

It is a good idea, if you have time before the application deadline, to complete a draft application and have someone who knows you review it for any spelling or content errors.

Remember, the application represents you!

Sign the application.  Unsigned applications are incomplete and will not be considered by CNU.
Do your very best to communicate what you have to offer for the position and we wish you the very best with your job search.
