Overnight Visits
Please consider participating in our overnight program the Friday before Open House. Staying overnight with a current CNU student is a wonderful way to make the most of your visit to CNU. Due to space restrictions, this program is open for current high school seniors only. If you have any questions about the overnight program please contact us overnight@cnu.edu

Join us on campus for an information session and a campus tour. These sessions last two hours and provide valuable insights into the CNU community. Your visit begins with a presentation by a knowledgeable Admissions Officer, followed by a student guided tour of our campus. You will enjoy seeing the brand new Trible Library, the beautiful David Student Union, our dazzling residence halls and much more!
First-time Freshmen
Information sessions and tours are available Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. Tours begins in the Admissions Welcome Center located in the David Student Union. You may schedule your visit online or call our office at (757) 594-7334. We ask that you schedule your visit at least one week in advance.

Interviews
Any high school senior who has applied for admission, or intends to apply, is encouraged to interview at CNU. While not required for admission, the opportunity for personal interaction with an applicant usually results in a strengthened application.
Interviews may be scheduled Monday - Friday starting at 9 a.m. with the last interview at 4 p.m. Interviews typically lasts 30 minutes.You may schedule an interview online or via email at universityfellows@cnu.edu. All interviews must be scheduled at least one week in advance. For extenuating circumstances, please call 757-594-8844.
President's Leadership and Honors Programs Interviews
Qualified candidates for PLP and/or Honors will be invited to visit campus for a required interview. Interviews may be scheduled Monday - Friday starting at 9 a.m. with the last interview at 4 p.m. Interviews typically lasts 30 minutes.
Candidates may also attend a President's Leadership and Honors Visit Day in order to complete their required interview while learning more about these exceptional programs.

Thank you for your interest in scheduling a Group Visit with Christopher Newport University! Through our Group Visit Program prospective middle and high school students will become familiar with CNU through an information session provided by current CNU students and a campus tour provided by CNU Student Ambassadors (about 2 hours total). Elementary school students will receive a tour only. Please review the following information carefully prior to completing and submitting your information form.
Accommodations for Group Visits are limited; tours are scheduled Monday through Friday on a first-come, first-served basis.
Group Visits are not available Saturday or Sunday. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Groups are still welcome on campus, however, no formal presentation or tour can be provided through the Admissions Office on these days.
Requests for Group Visits must be received at least 2 weeks prior to your desired visit date. Your tour is not confirmed until you receive a confirmation notice that includes your tour date, time, and other pertinent information. Groups that do not show up for a scheduled tour or that cancel less than 72 hours prior to their scheduled visit will have future requests reviewed; if more than 2 of these failures to attend/cancellations occur, at our discretion, tours will not be scheduled for the group for at least one calendar year.
There should be at least 1 chaperone for every 10 students visiting. Chaperones are expected to review the Group Visit Ground Rules with students before they arrive as well as play an active role in maintaining student compliance with those rules during the visit.
Lunch Information
- All groups interested in eating on campus MUST contact Dining Services ahead of time for further details and arrangements
- If you plan to eat in the dining hall on campus you must do so at 11 a.m. or after 1:30 p.m.
- The maximum number of visitors that can be accommodated in the dining hall is 30.
- The cost of dining on campus is $10.00 per person.
- Payment must come from one source (i.e. all cash at one time, one check for entire party, etc.)
