Rodriguez Helps Lead Team USA To A 23-20 Double Overtime Win Over Japan

KAWASAKI, JAPAN - Christopher Newport's Rob Rodriguez became a world champion as helped lead Team USA to a 23-20 double overtime win over Japan in the Gold Medal game of the 2007 World Football Championship.

Rodriguez had three tackles and also broke up a pass in the win. The loss for Japan was also the first in World Championship competition.

Southern Illinois' Craig Coffin kicked three field goals, including a 23-yarder for the game winner in the second overtime to lift Team USA to the title.
