Three Women's Lacrosse Players Named All-State

WINCHESTER, VA - Three Christopher Newport women's lacrosse players were named to the Virginia Sports Information Director's All-State team, the association announced this week.

Earning First Team honors were Kristyn Hankins and Kristen Conques. Katie Ross was selected to the Second Team.

Hankins finished 2007 with 41 goals, 25 assists and 66 points, good enough for second on the team. She led the team with three game-winners and had 23 ground balls. Hankins was also a First Team All-USA South pick and was named Second Team All-Region.

Conques led the Lady Captains in goals (54), assists (34) and points (88). She also concludes her career as the program's all-time leader in goals, assists and points. Conques was also selected to play in the IWLCA All-Star game. She was a First Team All-Conference choice and was also named to the USA South's All-Tournament Team. Conques joined Hankins as a Second Team All-Region choice.

Ross helped anchor a defense that allowed just 8.8 goals per game. She was a Second Team All-USA South choice and was also named to the conference's All-Tournament Team.
