Men's Tennis Ranked 10th, Glidewell 19th, Mook 20th, Glidewell And Mook Ranked 5th
SKILLMAN, NJ - Christopher Newport's men's tennis team is ranked 10th in the Atlantic South while singles players Eddie Glidewell is 19th and John Mook is 20th and Glidewell and Mook are also ranked fifth in doubles, the ITA announced Tuesday.
The Captains finished the year 13-8 overall and 5-1 in the USA South. CNU tied for first in the USA South regular season standings and lost in the semifinals of the USA South Conference Tournament. Christopher Newport played 12 of the 18 ranked teams in the latest poll and finished 5-8 against those teams (they played Methodist twice).
In singles, Glidewell saw time at both No. 1 and 2 singles this year. He finished 14-7 (9-6 at No. 1) in singles play. Mook, who is ranked 20th, split time at No. 1 and 2 with Glidewell. Mook finished 16-4 (12-2) and had numerous solid victories over tough opponents.
In doubles, the duo finished 16-4 on the year and jumped up three spots from last month's ranking. The pair played the whole year at No. 1.
