Softball Wins Twice On Day Two Of Salisbury Tournament

SALISBURY, MD - Christopher Newport's softball squad won both of its games on day two of the Salisbury Tournament Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Captains began the day by defeating the hosts, 6-3.

Janet Fairchild picked up her fifth win of the year while Kristen Rowe earned her sixth save.

Margit Severin led the way for CNU going 2-for-4 with three RBI. Mary Kennedy and Katie Moyers each finished 2-for-4.

The Lady Captains concluded the tournament by defeating King's (PA), 4-3.

Kristen Bruce earned her fourth win of the year while Rowe once again picked up the save.

Kennedy led the way going 4-for-4 with two steals. Moyers was 2-for-3 with two steals and Danielle Steel also finished 2-for-3.

Christopher Newport is now 15-3 on the year. CNU returns to action Tuesday as they host Salisbury at Captains Park with first pitch set for 2 pm.
