Volleyball To Play Texas-Lutheran In NCAA Tournament

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Christopher Newport's volleyball team will play Texas-Lutheran at Emory (GA) University this Thursday at 4:30 pm.

The Lady Captains finished 2004 32-7 overall and 12-2 in the USA South. The 32 wins ties a school record and it was also the second time in program history that a CNU volleyball team recorded at least 30 wins. The Lady Captains tied for the regular season conference championship with Averett and Greensboro and won the 2004 USA South Conference Tournament.

This is the third time in four years the volleyball program has reached the NCAA Tournament. The last time was in 2002.

The winner of this match will take on seventh ranked Trinity (TX) on Friday.

TLU finished 25-6 overall and 19-1 in the ASC. TLU is the fourth seed in this bracket while CNU is the fifth seed.
