Scrofani And Carney Fill Out Lloyd's Women's Soccer Coaching Staff

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Christopher Newport women's soccer Head Coach Kwame Lloyd has announced the hiring of two assistant coaches to fill his staff for the upcoming 2007 season.

Lydia Scrofani joins Lloyd for her first season at CNU. Scrofani spent three seasons as an assistant for John Daly at William & Mary from 2004-2007. Prior to that, she spent two seasons as an assistant at Fairleigh Dickinson - Teaneck.

Scrofani played four years at the University of South Carolina where she was named team captain for two seasons and was a NSCAA Regional All-American as well as a Soccer Buzz All-American.

Also joining Lloyd is former CNU standout Hillary Carney. Carney played three seasons for Lloyd and totaled 15 goals and 13 assists. She had her most successful offensive season in 2006 where she compiled 11 goals and six helpers. In 2006, Carney was named 2nd Team All-Region by D3kicks.com and was a Third Team choice by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. She was also chosen as a First Team All-State pick and a First Team All-USA South selection.
