Women's Tennis Shuts Out Mary Baldwin, 9-0

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Christopher Newport's women's tennis team shut out Mary Baldwin 9-0 Monday afternoon on the CNU Courts.

In singles action, Lindsey Pantele (CNU) defeated Kourtney Traina 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1; Stefanie Leblang (CNU) defeated Sylvia Neiser 6-0, 6-2; Frannie Shivar (CNU) defeated Caitlin Crowe 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3; Brittany Stevens (CNU) defeated Melissa Parsells 6-1, 6-0; Liz Thedford (CNU) defeated Renee miller in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5; and Chandler Long (CNU) did not lose a game to Dasha Caron, taking both sets 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, the duo of Pantele and Leblang (CNU) defeated Traina and Crowe 8-1; Shivar and Stevens (CNU) defeated Neiser and Parsells at No. 2, also 8-1; Thedford and Long (CNU) defeated Miller and Caron 8-4.

The Lady Captains improve to 2-0 on the year. CNU returns to action next Monday as they travel to Division II Fayetteville St. with start time set for 1 pm.
