WOMEN’S SOCCER FINISHES REGULAR SEASON WITH 3-0 WIN AT MAYRVILLE

MARYVILLE, TN – CNU’s women’s soccer squad traveled to Maryville Saturday afternoon and came away 3-0 winners in its final regular season match of 2002.

After a scoreless first half, the Lady Captains scored three times in the second half. Paniz Asgari started the scoring off in the 60^th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Asgari tallied her second score in the 80^th minute with Liz Thuma assisting. Natalie Stallings finished the scoring in the 85^th minute when she scored on a penalty kick.

CNU out shot Maryville 32-4. Erin Pollack had three saves in goal.

The Lady Captains are now 12-3-1 overall and return to action in the Dixie Conference Tournament. CNU, the number one seed, takes on NC Wesleyan, the conference’s number four seed, at Captains Field on Friday, Nov. 8 at 7:30 pm.
