MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Juniors Laura McFerrin and Elke Reisdorph
scored a pair of goals each as the women’s soccer team took an easy, 6-1,
win at Chowan Wednesday.
McFerrin got CNU off to a good start with a pair of goals in
the first 23 minutes. Freshman Erin Smith made it 3-0 at halftime.
In the second half sophomore Amber Pierpont tallied just
moments into the half, and then Reisdorph closed the scoring with her two
goals. Freshman Amy Petko had two assists and junior Jenn Headrick added
another.
Freshman Kim Hughes did not have to make a save in recording
her second shutout of the year as CNU outshot the Braves, 39-3.
The Lady Captains are now 2-0-1 and return home to meet Division
II Barton Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
