WOMEN’S SOCCER FALLS TO N.C. WESLEYAN, 4-0

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The women’s soccer team suffered its first shutout loss of the year, falling, 4-0, to North Carolina Wesleyan in a battle for the top spot in the Dixie Conference.

N.C. Wesleyan scored twice in each half and outshot CNU, 10-6. The Bishops are 15-2-1 and ranked No. 2 in the South and No. 14 in the nation.

Tiffany Swiney made six saves in the contest.

The Captains, now 10-3 and 4-1 in Dixie play, close the regular season Saturday night at Captains Field with a 7 p.m. game against Greensboro. A win over the Pride would give CNU a home field game in the semi-finals of the new Dixie Conference Tournament on Tuesday.
