LADY CAPTAINS WIN DIXIE OPENER, 3-0, AT METHODIST

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The women’s soccer team won its third straight, and its Dixie Conference opener, with a 3-0 victory at Methodist Sunday afternoon.

The Lady Captains took a 1-0 halftime lead on a goal by Amy Petko with the assist going to Shelley Rusnak.

In the second half Laura McFerrin scored twice, once unassisted and once with help from Petko. CNU outshot Methodist, 17-9.

The Lady Captains play at home Saturday against Southern Virginia.
