Director - Business Development Bill Leber is the Director of Business Development for the Warehouse and Distribution Solutions Division of Swisslog Logistics in North America. Swisslog is a global leader in the design and implementation of automated distribution facilities; it also provides storage and retrieval equipment, pallet conveyors and piece picking storage solutions. Prior to joining Swisslog, Bill worked 26 years for Ciba Specialty Chemicals in a variety of roles including manufacturing, logistics, sales & marketing, business development and general management. While with Ciba he was based for 5 years in Switzerland during which time he had management responsibility for facilities in 18 different countries around the world supplying materials to such diverse industries as plastics, paper, cosmetics, coatings, automotive, personal care and detergents. Bill also served as an Adjunct Professor of Business Management from 2006 – 2009 here at Christopher Newport and greatly enjoyed sharing his extensive business as part of teaching the Strategic Planning course. During this time, he also worked for Deloitte Consulting as an Industry Expert for the Process Industries Group. Bill received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He also has completed most of the coursework for a DBA in Marketing & International Business at Pace University's Lubin School of Business. Prior Board experience for Bill, both in the U.S. and abroad, includes the National Paint & Coatings Association, Virginia Chapter of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce - Suffolk Division, YMCA of South Hampton Roads, Mulawinat (a plastics producer in Saudi Arabia), SNCI (a color concentrate producer in France) and Ciba Masterbatch in Malaysia. Bill resides in Chesapeake with his wife Diane and four children.
