Director Dr. Shaltayev combines practical corporate experience with a strong academic preparation in science and management science. He has a bachelors and a master's degree in Physics, both with Honors, from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in Russia. He has another masters degree and a Ph.D. in Management Science from the University of Alabama. Previous to his affiliation with CNU in 2005, he held other professional positions internationally in the business world where he worked was a software developer, business consultant, auditor with KPMG International, and financial analyst. Dr. Shaltayev teaches CNU's courses in Operations Management, Statistical Thinking, Supply Chain Management, and Accounting Information Systems. Dr. Shaltayev's research interests include inventory management in supply chains, simulation of supply chain operations, and macroeconomic factors influencing currencies' mutual exchange rates. He is a highly regarded classroom teacher and his articles have been published in prestigious scholarly journals.
