Executive Vice President & Partner Howard B. Waters is Executive Vice President with Collins, Waters & Bridgeman Integrated Marketing in Newport News & Williamsburg, Virginia. The agency, founded in 1960 by Howard's father, serves a wide array of clients primarily in the financial, tourism, healthcare, economic development and real estate industries. Howard began his advertising career as a media buyer for the agency in 1975. He became President in 1984. In 2004 a new partnership was created with Paul Collins, the former Marketing Director of Lanier Worldwide and Sandy Bridgman, Executive Vice President and a 28-year staff member of the agency. In 1999 he received the Silver Medal from the Advertising Club of Hampton Roads for career achievement in the industry. That same year he was presented with the Humanitarian Award from the NCCJ (National Conference for Community & Justice-Formerly the National Conference of Christians and Jews). In 2000 he received the Legion of Excellence Award from the American Advertising Federation's 3rd District which includes Virginia and the Carolinas - one of only 9 people to receive that award in the 27 years it has been presented. The firm has won literally hundreds of advertising awards. A documentary about local Holocaust survivors that Waters co-produced and co-edited for the United Jewish Community of the Virginia Peninsula won a regional Emmy Award in 1997. Waters has served not only as a primary contact on the agency's largest accounts but he is also relied upon for creative input and advice on most every significant project that the agency undertakes. He currently serves on the boards of the Christopher Newport University Luter College of Business & Leadership; The Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities; Bernardine Franciscan Sisters Foundation (Vice Chairman), the Port Warwick Foundation and The Virginia Peninsula Rotary Club. Waters has also served as: Chairman of the Board - Thomas Nelson Community College and VA Peninsula Chamber Other Boards he has served on include:Hampton Roads Academy, Peninsula Fine Arts Center, United Way of the Virginia Peninsula, Selective Service System, United Jewish Community, the Virginia Living Museum, the Salvation Army and Rodef Sholom Temple. Waters is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College. His hobbies are writing, tennis, cooking, golf and reading.
