Students who intend to major in business may apply for admission to the BSBA degree program if and only if they plan by the end of the Summer 2012 semester to:
(1) complete all pre-business courses listed in the relevant undergraduate catalog;
(2) have completed a minimum of 54 credit hours; and,
(3) have passed all pre-business course requirements with a minimum grade of C.
Students who meet these criteria and have a current cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 will be accepted for upper-level coursework in the Luter School beginning the following semester, conditional on the successful completion of (1), (2), and (3). Students who do not currently meet the stated requirements may apply, but such situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Students in this category will receive either a deferred acceptance letter or be denied admission. Students who receive a deferred acceptance will be wait-listed and their actual enrollment status will not be known until the end of the semester, once grades are processed. Students who are denied admission will not be allowed to enroll in the BSBA program and are encouraged to consider enrolling in the business minor. Finally, students who are not accepted into the major can reapply once at a later date. However, if the second application is not successful, they may not re-apply for a business major, but may enroll in the business minor.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What factors are considered in the application process?
To qualify for consideration a student must meet the three crtieria above. Students are ranked and evaluated on only one criteria, their cumulative CNU GPA.
How many students are accepted each semester?
This number varies by semester. Approximately 120 students enter the BSBA program each year. Up to an addtional 18 transfer students are also admitted. Approximately 100 CNU students are admitted in the fall and 20 students enter during the spring semester.
How are transfer students evaluated?
Students who are currently enrolled in CNU courses and meet the three criteria above are eligible to apply to the program. Like CNU students, all transfer students are ranked based on their cumulative GPA from their prior institution(s).
Does my selection of a particular major help or hurt my chances of being accepted into the program?
