Profile:  Dr. Cowling has twenty years experience teaching accounting courses, including principles, cost/managerial, financial, and advanced financial accounting.  His research interests include financial accounting and accounting education and he has had numerous academic presentations and publications.  He is a member of the American Accounting Association, the AICPA, the VSCPA and the National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives.  Prior to his academic career Dr. Cowling worked for General Electric as a program planner at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory and for the Ford Motor Company as a financial analyst involved in car pricing in the Lincoln-Mercury Division and as a budget and profit center analyst at the Ford Aerospace and Communications Corporation.
