Health Alert: Peanut Butter & Salmonella Information

ConAgra foods has issued a recall on all jars of Peter Pan Peanut Butter and Great Value (Wallmart). The jars have the number 2111 on the lids.

If you have an unopened jar, you can return it to the store you purchased it from for a refund.

If you have eaten the peanut butter and have had diarrhea, you are encouraged to stop eating it and come to Health & Wellness Services for a stool culture kit. The only way salmonella can be diagnosed is by a stool culture. If the results of the culture are positive for salmonella, the peanut butter can then be tested. Do not return or disgard your jar until the results of your culture return.

Please visit the Centers for Disease Control's website (new window) for information about this issue and for more information about salmonella.
