Does the department allow overrides in its courses?
To ensure that students can graduate in in four years, overrides are granted on an "extreme need" only basis. You should contact the Department Chair, Dr. Linda Baughman, in order to request a course override.

How do I apply for Communication credit towards an Internship?
COMM 491 Practicum in Communication Studies is the course for Internships. You just be of junior standing and receive the consent of the Internship Director, Prof. Mary D. Best, in order to proceed.

What is the difference between an Internship and Service Learning?
An Internship is comprised of 120 hours of experience working with a business or nonprofit organization. You would arrange your schedule and obligations with the supervisor of that workplace.
Service learning is part of a scheduled class. You would spend 15-20 hours of civic engagement assisting community needs in support of course objectives. Visit The Center for Service Learning & Social Entrepreneurship for a list of community partners.
Where can I get more information about Lambda Pi Eta?
Lambda Pi Eta is the Communication honor society which has been granted its charter by the National Communication Association.
