On the morning of Jan. 29, members from every fraternity on CNU’s campus joined together to serve the surrounding neighborhoods for "Serve our Neighbors Day." Facilitated by the Center for Service Learning and Social Entrepreneurship, the brothers were given rakes, gloves and a pep talk filled with gratitude from the Newport News City Manager Neil Morgan before going to their designated houses. The Center for Wetland Conservation (CWC) fosters research, service, and instruction in environmental science at CNU while working to improve Virginia’s aquatic resources.

The CWC has a student-centered approach which extends the relationship between students, faculty, environmental science professionals, and the community. Students at many levels, including graduate, undergraduate, and K-12, are directly involved with project design, research implementation, and conference presentations.
