Ferguson
Names Center for the Arts
In
recognition of the strong and generous support of Ferguson Enterprises,
the center for the arts at Christopher Newport University will
be named the Ferguson
Center for the Arts.

Please
remember that Commencement
dates have changed. Rehearsal is on Friday, December 19,
at 2 p.m. and Commencement will take place on Sunday, January
11, 2004.
Football
ends its best season yet
The CNU
Captains made it to the second round of the NCAA Division
III playoffs and faced rival Bridgewater once again. Unfortunately,
Bridgewater left CNU with a 26-3 defeat. The Captains, however,
finished the season with their best record of 8-3.

graduate and Board of Visitors member, Anne C.H. Conner,
’91, Senior Vice President of Bank of America,
was recently recognized by Inside Business
as one of the top 25
Businesswomen in Hampton Roads.
Congratulations
to the Residence Life staff for a series of statewide
awards at the recent Virginia Collge/University Housing
Officers (VACUHO) R.A. Conference held in Williamsburg
for outstanding educational and social programs. Among
the winners were resident assistants Emily Anderson,
Diane Cabiroy, Michelle Hubert, Patty Lann, Adam Maurer,
Sophie Phair, Valerie Dix, Beverly Bartlett, Jeanice
Stewart and Brian Smith.
The
CNU Chamber Choir was the featured collegiate choral
group for the recent Virginia Music Education Association
convention in Norfolk where they received rave reviews
from the state’s most successful high school
choral directors.
