With a $1 million lead gift from an Anonymous Donor, Christopher Newport University is establishing the CNU Endowed Merit Scholarship Challenge Campaign. It is our goal to leverage this $1 million gift by creating a challenge that will result in a minimum of $2 million in permanently endowed scholarships, serving scores of CNU merit student scholars.

CNU wants to target limited scholarship resources for highest impact by recruiting freshmen using merit scholarship awards and renewing their awards for three additional years. CNU will seek out students with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, SAT scores of 1120 or better and students who rank high in their respective high school classes for these awards.
