Purposes and Goals

The CNU Educational Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation which functions as a charitable foundation to assist, support and foster the mission of Christopher Newport University.
We accomplish this purpose through:

participating in the formulation of strategies to obtain charitable contributions and promoting and monitoring those strategies in conjunction with University Advancement and in consultation with the President and other leadership of CNU
creating the investment policy of the Foundation, selecting the fund manager and monitoring the performance of the investments
informing and educating potential donors and supporters as to the mission and needs of CNU
promoting planned charitable gifts to CNU
promoting proper donor stewardship
to render financial assistance to CNU
