CNU as an institution is committed to promoting ecological, environmental and social sustainability. This involves all members - administration, faculty, staff and students - of the CNU community working to :: Utility Conservation The University is taking steps to manage the consumption of all utilities on campus, including energy and water. Recycling @ CNU Since March 17, 2006, CNU has been recycling to further improve the campus environment as well as the local community. CNU has several recycle locations across campus. Stormwater Management The Virginia Stormwater Management Program (VSMP) at CNU provides a comprehensive stormwater management program consistent with the Virginia General Permit. Departmental Initiatives University Housing: University Housing has made improvements such as replacing the few remaining incandescent lights with florescent lights, 90% of the shower heads in on campus residences are low flow and replacing broken appliances with Energy Star appliances, just to name a few. more >> Dining Services: Dining Services recycles all cooking oil used in deep fat fryers, approximately 1,000 lbs per week. more >>
