Academic areas of interest:
Professor Herbert earned her BA in history and German language at the University of Washington and her MA and PhD at the Johns Hopkins University. She is a specialist in early modern Europe, British history, religious history, and the history of women, gender, and sexuality. She is a co-advisor of the History Club. Her current book project is entitled Female Alliances: Gender, Identity, and Friendship in Early Modern Britain.
