Liberal Learning Curriculum Information

The Liberal Learning Core Curriculum consists of the Liberal Learning Foundations, the Liberal Learning Areas of Inquiry and the Liberal Learning Emphasis.

Liberal Learning Areas of Inquiry

CNU students take a minimum of 22 hours in the Liberal Learning Areas of Inquiry (A of I), distributed as stated below:

• Creative Expressions (AICE), 3 hours minimum
• Global and Multicultural Perspectives (AIGM), 3 hours minimum
• Formal and Informal Reasoning (AIIF), 3 hours minimum
• Identity, Institutions and Societies (AIII), 3 hours minimum
• Investigating the Natural World (AINW), 7 hours minimum
• Western Traditions (AIWT), 3 hours minimum

Liberal Learning Emphasis

The Liberal Learning Emphasis has been eliminated from the Liberal Learning Curriculum.  This applies to all currently enrolled students and will be reflected in the 2011-2012 Undergraduate Catalog.  If you have already completed the LLE, those credits will still count toward graduation requirements.  If you have questions about this curricular change, please contact your advisor or the chair of the department of your major.
