Welcome to CNU!

Welcome to campus!  Move-in is an exciting, highly orchestrated event.

Freshmen (first year students) - August 18 & 19, 2012
First-year student arrival is split over two days and includes students living in Santoro Hall, York River Hall and Potomac River Hall North B Wing. Incoming students will be assigned a day and time to move in and will be notified after Setting Sail (New Student Orientation).

Transfer Students - August 22, 2012
Incoming transfer students who have been placed in on-campus housing may move in on August 22, 2012 between 12 noon and 5 p.m.  Changing Tides, orientation for transfer students, takes place August 23 and 24 and is expected and required.  For more information about living on campus as a transfer student, visit the incoming students section of the Residence Life web page.

Returning (second year and up) Students on Main Campus - August 25 & 26, 2012
Returning and transfer students move in to Main Campus Residence Halls the Saturday and Sunday prior to the start of classes for the fall semester.  This move-in weekend includes James River Hall, Potomac River Hall (except North B Wing) and Warwick River Hall as well as Greek Village and Harrison Apartments on East Campus.

Returning (second year and up) Students on East Campus
East Campus accommodates students living on campus on a year round basis.  See the list below for move-in and out dates.

  • June 15, 2012 - 2011-12 Contract Period Ends for CNU Apartments (Harrison, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, and Washington) and CNU Landing.  Buildings close for summer maintenance and cleaning. 
  • June 30, 2012 - 2011-12 Contract Period Ends for CNU Village (Taylor, Tyler, and Wilson) and Greek Village. Buildings close for summer maintenance and cleaning. 
  • July 1, 2012 - 2012-13 Contract Period Begins for CNU Apartments (Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, and Washington) and CNU Landing.  Buildings open for students with a 12 month contract.  Note: Harrison Apartments are contracted for a 10-month period in 2012-13 and will remain closed until August 25, 2012.
  • July 15, 2012 - 2012-13 Contract Period Begins for CNU Village (Taylor, Tyler and Wilson).  Buildings open for students with a 12 month contract.
