Stephen Z. Cook - Keyboard and Aural Skills

Stephen Z. Cook divides his time as a classical musician with multi-faceted responsibilities that underscore his abilities and interests. At Christopher Newport he teaches undergraduate courses in ear training, sight-singing, and piano. He is also employed by two churches in Williamsburg, Virginia: he is an Associate Organist and Director of the College of William & Mary Choir at Bruton Parish and he is Organist at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. He holds a Bachelors degree in piano performance with honors from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, a Masters degree in church music and organ performance from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in organ performance and pedagogy from the University of Iowa. Dr. Cook's academic, fraternal, and professional memberships include: Pi Kappa Lambda, Phi Mu Alpha, the American Guild of Organists, and the Association of Anglican Musicians.
