Hello. My name is Annie Stevens and I am professor of percussion and Assistant Director of Athletic Bands at Christopher Newport University.

Through my enthusiasm and passion for teaching and performing, I cultivate a musical environment that enables my students to constantly grow as musicians. As a teacher, I strive to gain an understanding of the musical aspirations of each student and, while still covering a variety of musical genres, actually create a curriculum to define these specific paths.

At CNU, the music program encompasses many areas of percussion performance, enabling students to graduate from CNU with performance and leadership experience in a variety of ensembles. Students are able to participate in the drumline and front ensembles of the marching band, the wind ensemble and orchestra, the jazz band, and the percussion ensemble.

Upon earning a degree in music from CNU, graduates are prepared to pursue opportunities as music educators and to study music at top graduate schools around the country.
