The President's Leadership Program (PLP) and the Center for Service Learning and Social Entrepreneurship have partnered to strengthen and streamline service efforts within PLP.

Each class of Leadership students has a unique set of service goals that will be administered through the Center.  Each student will have a unique Service Profile which will be updated each semester and year.

Specifically, PLP Sophomores will select a Service Track from the many categories of service identified on our Service Database.  The tracks provide a framework for service which should complement the students' academic, career, and service interests.

Thank you in advance for the value you are adding to the community and your own education through service!

As you consider the legacy you will leave, to whom will you "pass the torch?" Who will carry your work forward after you graduate?  If you plan to move away from Newport News after graduation, how can you thoughtfully and respectfully transition out of the local community?

Service Profiles are for all students engaged in service.  For PLP students specifically, here are few important notes:

1) Students doing sporadic or episodic service at various locations do not need to fill out the "Register My Service Placement"** form.  They should fill out the "Log My Service Hours"** form for EACH service event in which they participate.

2) Students committing to an organization through VolunteerCNU or a Service Learning course should fill out a "Register My Service Placement"** form by the Registration deadline (Fall 2011 deadline is Friday, September 16th).  At the end of the semester they should complete the "Log My Service Hours"** form.

3) All students should complete the "Evaluate My Service Experience"** once a semester.

** All forms are located on your Service Profile.
