Professional Experience:
Dr. Ericson has over 30 years of social work practice experience. She has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient mental health and special education. She has a specialty in working with families and is on the faculty of the Couples Therapy Program at the Washington Psychoanalytic Institute. Her 12 years of teaching social work has been at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and she was a field instructor for 10 years. Her research interests include attachment behavior, international issues and education, and service-learning. She has published in all of these areas. In addition, she has co-authored a textbook, Social Work Matters, which is being used in schools of social work in the Netherlands to teach Dutch students English social work terminology.
