Student Achievement
The arts have long been the measure of a
society. Successful societies, throughout history, have nourished, respected,
and supported the arts and its artists. So too, our "educational society"
at CNU regards the arts as essential. The student-artist is central to
the creative identity of the Dept. of Theater & Dance and, indeed, to the university at
large. Therefore it is with great pride tha we recognize student
achievement and excellence in a variety of ways.
We view the student-artist
as having two, equally important and inextricably intertwined lives:
- Traditional classroom work (academic)
- Production work (artistic)
|
Since
our students are required to participate equally in both these
areas, TheaterCNU recognizes students who achieve in maintaining
a successful, albeit delicate, balance between classes and
production. Each year the Theater & Dance Faculty Awards are given to students who have demonstrated
overall excellence in various areas including performance,
design, directing, and departmental service.
Additionally,
CNU's cast of Alpha Psi Omega measures and defines student achievement
within our program. |

Finally, if a student
has demonstrated continued excellence in both the classroom and
production, they may qualify to graduate with Theater
Departmental Honors.
