***There is a difference between a logo and an identity marker. The main difference is that a logo is trademarked and copyrighted while an identity marker is not. The only logos allowed on campus are official CNU logos.

Identity markers and logos serve the same purpose: to allow instant recognition of your brand. For this reason, we cannot develop identity markers for every event or function. A unified image is vital to maintain the integrity of your department's brand. We can aid in the development of identity markers for individual departments. Please see our project request policy for further information.***

  • Spell out "Christopher Newport University" in its complete form the first time it is used in each separate document. After the first use on a page or document of the long form, subsequent references may simply use "CNU."
  • For the words Christopher and Newport, please use these typefaces: Mona Lisa for University, please use these typefaces: Bembo or Times New Roman in capital letters.
  • For print materials, please use CNU's official colors, PMS 287-Blue and PMS 877-Silver. For web sites, CNU's official colors are: #003366 (Blue) and #D8D8D8 (Silver).

Cascade Server is a web content management system that allows users to upload and manage multiple file types across multiple sites.

Access to Cascade Server is granted to individuals who have been designated by their supervisor as the content manager for their respective website(s) in the CNU domain, and who have completed Cascade Server training. All content managers must complete Cascade Server training in order to be granted access.
